She has been in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw her portraits have been displayed in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw, was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), who was a beauty professional and travel agent as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. The couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri at the age five and was a graduate of Hazelwood Senior High School in 1972. Capshaw earned a degree from the University of Missouri in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught Special Education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
